Through a self-service registration form at .opticrm.app/portal. Submissions go to admin for approval, after which a welcome email with credentials is dispatched.

Can a parent with multiple children manage them in one login?

Yes. A multi-child dropdown switches between children — fees, attendance, results, transport, everything updates to the selected child.

Can parents pay fees from the portal?

Yes. Pending invoices show with a "Pay Now" button. Secure online checkout. Payment-to-receipt happens in under 30 seconds. PDF receipts download from payment history.

Can parents message teachers directly?

Yes. Thread-based messaging with the class teacher or admin, with unread badges and chat-style flow. Teachers and admins respond from the dashboard.

What about grievances?

A formal grievance workflow with category, subject, priority, and an auto-generated reference (GRV-YYYY-NNNN). Status tracking through Open → In Progress → Resolved → Closed.
